All Samsung Products Will Lead to OS Bada
In addition to developing a mobile operating system Bada, Samsung is known also accommodate other kinds Android OS and Windows Mobile. But if asked, the focus in the future, Samsung clearly going to prioritize Bada.
South Korean vendors are also having a new marketing strategy to boost penetration of Bada along with its application store. Samsung sure, some products will carry the famous phone Bada.
This is explained Pambudi Sudirman, Indonesia Mobile Application Manager in Samsung Bada Developer Day, at Hotel JW Marriot in Jakarta, Wednesday (30/6/2010) ago. "In the future all Samsung products leads to Bada," he explained to the dozens of developers who attended the event.
This seemed to address concerns of developers. Because, now Samsung is a manufacturer of phones that have the Android OS, Windows Mobile, and now present Bada. "Which would be Samsung's first priority in this case?" asked a developer to boss these Samsung mobile applications.
"Nothing is prioritized Samsung. All of the OS will be our Provider. Just a few things that can only be diprovide in Android, just get in Windows Mobile, or Bada," he explained.
"During this Samsung is famous for its variety of Java-based applications. Well, in the future all Samsung products would lead to Bada," he added.
And what about Corby, one of Samsung products are now quite loved young people today. For that, Pambudi explained that Bada applications can only be obtained at the Bada handset. But Bada still can run Java. "So much more flexible," he said.
When asked whether Samsung would cover other OS-OS existing, Pambudi answer will not be closed. "It's just, may be reduced slowly and it all depends on market appetite," he said.
Accordingly, Pambudi explained that in the future Samsung will divide the three product segments in the line of low-end, middle and high end. And it would use an OS that is Bada.
Sounds familiar right? Similar things have been done with three OS Nokia future: S40, Symbian and MeeGo. Samsung focuses on one difference is the OS.
