Motorola and Sprint Prepare Windows Mobile


Motorola Inc. said on Thursday that they will launch a new mobile phone with Microsoft software and number three U.S. mobile operator, Sprint Nextel Corp., will sell the phone to corporate customers.

While Motorola uses software Google Inc., Android, for mobile consumers, the Microsoft technology embedded in devices designed for business customers.

Motorola said that in an event will present ES400 device, the phone will be marketed September and will run with Microsoft software on Windows Mobile 6.5.

Microsoft, which has been lost from the Android software on the market for mobile phones, said it plans to update Windows Mobile 6.5 software for the business end of this year.

It will be branded as Windows Embedded Handheld, the Reuters report said.

Motorola plans to upgrade cell phone to the next version of ES400, a company spokesman said without giving sufficient time.

Next year Microsoft will launch a new version of Windows Embedded-based handheld software Windows 7, according to Chief Executive Steve Ballmer made a statement via video at the event Motorola.
